Ash, Pikachu, Brock, and Misty while continuing on their way to Vermillion City, decide to take a break for coffee, tea, and crêpes. While searching for firewood, Ash encounters students from the Pokémon Technical Institute or “Pokémon Tech” bullying one of their classmates, Joe. Ash learns that Pokémon Tech is an elite school from which students may enter the Pokémon League without any gym badges after graduation. Taking issue with the student’s treatment of young Joe, our friends go to the school to teach some lessons of their own. The top student in the beginning class at Pokémon Tech, a young girl named Giselle, decides to show our friends just how much they don’t know about pokémon – only to discover that not everything can be learned from a book.
